Gavin Webb Obituary, MILFORD, Del. — Gavin Webb, 20, of Milford, Delaware, passed away after sustaining critical injuries in a motorcycle crash on North DuPont Boulevard in the early morning hours of July 31, based on to Milford police.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. on North DuPont Boulevard near the intersection with North Walnut Street. Police remarked Webb was riding a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when the motorcycle failed to stop for a traffic signal.
At the same time, a gray GMC Acadia was turning left onto North DuPont Boulevard from Warner Road. The motorcycle collided with the SUV, causing a serious crash that ejected Webb from the motorcycle.
The collision also caused the GMC Acadia to leave the roadway. The SUV subsequently struck a fire hydrant and a utility pole, sustaining disabling damage. The driver of the Acadia, identified by law enforcement as a 17-year-old male, was not injured in the crash.
Milford police officers and Delaware State Police troopers responded to the scene and promptly began life-saving measures for Webb. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but he later passed away from the injuries he sustained in the collision.
Webb’s passing has left his name connected to a tragic early-morning crash that remains under inquiry. Agencies are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, including the sequence of events and the traffic signal at the intersection.
