Marilyn McClellan Obituary, COLUMBUS, Ohio — Marilyn McClellan, 62, of Columbus, formerly of Glouster, passed away on July 16, 2026, at OSU East in Columbus.
Born November 14, 1963, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Kenneth J. and LaDonna V. Whaley McClellan. Her life was marked by meaningful connections with loved ones, friends, and people of the local communities where she lived and worked.
Marilyn worked as a hairdresser and bartender in local establishments, where she became well known for her caring nature. Through her work and daily interactions, she built relationships with people who came to appreciate her warmth and personality.
Outside of work, Marilyn enjoyed a number of of life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, singing, cooking, and sitting down with a cup of coffee. She was lovingly described as a “rock & roll girl,” reflecting her enjoyment of music and the things that brought her happiness.
Above all, Marilyn cherished the time she spent with her relatives and friends. Her memory will remain connected to the everyday moments she shared with the people who were important to her and to the relationships she formed throughout her life.
Marilyn is survived by her two grandchildren, Catrina Cravath and Launna Harris, as well as her very special friends, Dianne Whaley and Linda Zimmer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, B.J. Burdette and LaDonna Burdette; and her brothers, Kenneth Paul McClellan Sr. and Jackie Lee McClellan.
Cremation for Marilyn has taken place, and no services will be observed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.
Marilyn McClellan will be remembered for the life she shared with her family and friends, her work in the local neighborhood, and the simple joys she valued. May those who knew and loved her find comfort in their memories of her and carry those memories with them in the years ahead. May Marilyn rest peacefully and remain fondly remembered.
